Jalon or Xaló as the local Valencian ‘s speaker pronounces it, is the home of Cycle Retreats, and where Zoe and Mark built the dream of what is now a household name in luxury cycling holidays. Recent COVID restrictions forced Cycle Retreats to change the model they were working towards of an all-year-round Retreat in the Jalon mountains and start locating their cycling retreats in stunning boutique hotels.  As always in this cycling paradise location, they have exclusive use of these hidden gems and work closely with their team and the teams at the boutique hotels to bring a perfect base for cycling holidays of a lifetime.  This change due to COVID also brought about the opportunity for Cycle Retreats to look further a field and give the cycling community a wider choice of areas to cycle and means people can experience a Cycle Retreat in many other European locations.

Cycle Retreats is the name associated with high end cycling holidays, where all you need to do is enjoy the vistas and the camaraderie of cycling with like minded people, while the skilled Cycle Retreats team take care of everything else for you. Now with the agility that Zoe and Mark (Co-founders) of Cycle Retreats have been given, due to changes created by COVID, they can bring to the market more offers that can fit in with the changing needs of the cycling community.

A recent survey showed that many wanted a cycling tour but delivered to a better standard than mainly provided in the market, also more locations of Spain for winter cycling, and different parts of Europe for spring and summer. Another area due to the cost of living was the need for a cost sensitive product, but one that wouldn’t affect many of the unique areas that clients value of Cycle Retreats. The standard of the guides, the quality and authenticity of the food, latest technology in the fleet of bikes plus the expert care of a fully qualified team.  

Mark and Zoe feel they have found the perfect location to hold this Retreat from in Town House Retreat and are pleased to be able to offer a holiday to more people who still want to have their all-important escape on two wheels but are more mindful on costs in the current financial climate.  Town House Retreat is in the heart of Jalon and is a stunning authentic Spanish house, originally built in 1880. In recent years it was completely transformed the house has six

en-suites, all with their own unique décor and style. Recently installed  solar panels, which are used to generate its own electricity, it also has its own well inside! Town House can rightly boast it operates sustainably.  Town House Retreat is literally at the foot of the majestic Sierra de Bernia. Climb the Bernia by bike. The ultimate reward awaits you at the top with breath-taking views and at the highest point you can see Ibiza. As we only started in February this year, we are already living our dream, living, and working in Spain, taking good care of our B&B situated in Casa Mistela. As we are both cyclists, we can only advise you to come to Xaló and experience the valleys, the mountains, the sea views and of course the good life Spain has to offer.
